Staffing of the DPLC Ruidoso Office

located at 1401 Sudderth, Ruidoso, NM

We are planning on opening the office of the Democratic Party of Lincoln County on Fridays and Saturdays beginning Friday, September 11, 2026, until the election on November 3rd. Shifts are three hours from 10:00-1:00 and 1:00-4:00 each day. The office is located at 1401 Sudderth in Ruidoso. We need two volunteers for each shift.

What will you do in the office? Basically, we want to staff the office. You will welcome anyone who comes by to ask about the election and request signs/bumper stickers/etc. to support Democratic candidates. We show visitors who want to register to vote how they can do that online. There may be opportunities for writing letters or postcards or calling or texting voters. You’ll be sent more detailed instructions, including the code for getting in the office, if you decide to volunteer.

To volunteer, you can choose one of these methods:

• Call/text Sharon Amastae (915-203-1501)

• Email (samastae@yahoo.com)

• Sign up online via SignUp.com (directions below)

Here's how SignUp works:

1) Click this link to see the DPLC Signup page: Click here to SignUp.

2) Review the shifts listed and choose the spot(s) you like.

3) Sign up! It's easy - you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp. If you cannot make a shift you signed up for, just go online to delete yourself from that shift and sign up for another one.

Note: SignUp does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact me and I can sign you up manually.

Please contact me personally if you have any questions about volunteering or need assistance in signing up for a shift.

Thanks for supporting DPLC,

Sharon Amastae

Deb Haaland's Roadrunner Tour came to El Sueno in Alto, NM. Lots of folk attended in support of both Deb and Melanie Stansbury who traveled with her. Visit her site to learn more.

The No Kings Protest on October 18th had a very good turnout. Here is a short video of the beautiful day.

DPLC is pleased to announce it willl be rallying with other national organizations such as Indivisible, Women's March and 50501, on October 18 at Country Club Park, at the corner of Sudderth and Country Club Drive, from 11am to 1pm. Check out the flyer below and mark this event on your calendar.

October 18 is a national day of action building on the success of the June 14 "No Kings" protests that drew more than five million participants. There are many ways to protest that don’t involve marching in the streets including amplifying the #NoKings message on social media, displaying a light (LED or candle) in your window nightly to show solidarity, and sharing factual information on the rights of protestors and the rights of anyone approached by immigration enforcement.  To Sign Up, Click here.

We are proud to join Women's March, 50501, nokings.org, the local chapter of Indivisible ("RIOT"), and other national groups in a nationwide Day of Defiance on Saturday, June 14, 1pm-3pm, at Country Club Park at the corner of Sudderth and Country Club Drive, Ruidoso. NO KINGS National Day of Mobilization

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies. We’re taking to the streets nationwide. We’re not gathering to feed his ego, we’re building a movement that leaves him behind. The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.

The Stansbury event on April 16 in the Ballroom at Inn of the Mountain Gods
was well attended. She is a true inspiration.

It was a very cold and windy day but about 60 of us showed up on April 5th for the Hands-Off Rally. See photos below.
